Solution: Interlude: English
Answer: NEGATIVE DOUBLES

Written by Jonah Ostroff

In this interlude, each input is added to two of four ever-growing lists. The lists are in two pairs, and with enough words we can notice a few patterns:

  1. The left list from each pair is always in reverse alphabetical order.
  2. The right list from each pair is always in alphabetical order.
  3. The words in the left list from each pair are always alphabetically earlier than the words in the right list from that pair.

This means that as more and more words are added to the lists, the words at the top will become alphabetically closer to each other, until they converge on some unknown word. These mystery words, when entered as an input, appear above the lists. Together, they give the answer: NEGATIVE DOUBLES.
